The 1st Open Market Consultation (OMC) took part in Madrid on the 5th of September, hosted by the Spanish ministry of public works. More than 30 participants coming from over 20 Spanish and European companies exchanged with members of the smart.met buyers’ group on the needs of the utilities and how these needs could best be met.
The aim of the smart.met consultations that are being organised during the month of September 2017 is to help prepare the Pre-Commercial Procurement that should be launched at the end of the year. OMCs will thus help the utilities check the technological state of the art and availability of smart water metering solutions and identify market risks that could affect suppliers.
The OMCs will also enable networking and business-to-business interactions between potential suppliers, offering the possibility to industry to form consortia to better respond to the planned procurement.
Three more OMCs are planned: on the 11th of September in Livorno (Italy), on the 21st of September in Brussels (Belgium) and on the 27th of September in Budapest (Hungary). You can still register.
